2 held in minor girl murder case

PATNA: Police on Sunday arrested a man and his friend on charges of killing a minor girl at a village in Purnia district on December 28. According to police, the girl was murdered over a love affair.
“The accused came to Purnia from Delhi with his friend, slit the throat of the girl and hanged her body on a tree to make it look like a case of suicide.The two were arrested in Delhi on January 11,” Baisi SDPO Aditya Kumar said.
“The accused fled to Delhi after killing the 16-year-old girl. A special investigation team was formed to crack the case. The girl’s father told police that his daughter used to talk to the 22-year-old accused who had been living in Delhi for the last two months,” he said.
“On the basis of technical investigation and mobile surveillance, police found his location at Usmanpur in New Delhi. His fried was also arrested for his involvement in the crime,” the SDPO said.
